Cannon Beach, Oregon

All over the world, you’ll find different varieties of similar things. Mountains are different from East to West, with their own types of snow to ski. Some rivers are calm and flat, while others cut through valleys and elevation. Beaches do not exist as one size fits all destinations either, and Oregon’s Cannon Beach may be among the most serene in America.

The sand is flat, and extends for ages like that, making the beach not only walkable, but also like a vast mirror across the coast as the water delicately traces in and out. The light too is more subtle, as though filtered at this latitude to provide a stillness in the air. While I only got to experience this edge of the Pacific for a few days, it left a strong memory and I’m eager to go back again, to unwind on this beach away from it all.
